Go Diving Koh Tao - Scuba & Freediving Centre

Hey! Anyone here have insight about diving in Koh lanta? Going there in three weeks and planning on doing some freediving on my own and maybe take a (scuba) diving trip if i find a good company/group who hosts these (taking tips). In Lanta is it possible to just take off from the shore with the fins and start diving or is the area/water so murky
